A Bowlful of Cherries

Celebrating Matty and Noah

At the hospital

Donna and I are at the hospital now. It’s nearly 10a, and we got here around 8a. The doctor essentially said, “Your body isn’t ready,” and today might be a really boring day (since hospitals aren’t exactly known for their entertainment value — unless you like ER). Right now, Donna is getting prostaglandin treatments to soften her cervix and quite possibly jump-start her contractions. She’ll get three such treatments, four hours apart, with an hour of bed rest after each treatment. If, after the third treatment, nothing’s happening, we’ll go home for the night.

The doctor prefaced all of the above with, “Now, I’ve given this speech many times, and I’ve been wrong many times.” So we’ll see what happens.
