Little Face takes to the pumpkin patch.

This past Sunday we headed over to the Willow Creek Nursery to pick up some pumpkins for carving. It was a fun day as we hit the small corn maze and let Matt pick out the perfect pumpkin specimen.

Matty and I did our best not to get lost or trapped amidst the stalks.

Mike had less luck.

Tried as he might, Little Face just could not lift that big pumpkin. Instead he chose to cop a squat on it.

The farm had these great cutouts that Matt took to right away. Little Face blends right in!

We both take our shots in front of the kiddie pumpkin patch.

Moments of Matt’s daily life.

Little Face is slowly starting to acclimate himself to the sitting up on his own process. Mostly he tends to just fold himself in half. Which he seems to enjoy as it gives him the opportunity to wrap his mouth around his apparently tasty tootsies.

The Boopy (uh, see comments below) that we’ve had since birth (a lovely gift from Cin & Bri), has been indispensable. We’ve used it for nursing, for bottle feeding, for propping Matt up while rocking, as a makeshift pillow while traveling in the car, and now as a sitting-up-talking-to-Papa tool. Praise for the Boopy!

We’re still a little ways away from Matty taking over the feeding task himself completely, but he does seem to dig wrapping his wee arm around his baba.

Sleepyhead Little Face wakes up happy from his short nap on the couch.

The man of the hour.

Ladies and Gentlemen…Curtis Montague Schilling.

It was a night of pacing and hand-wringing and hushed wooping and silent high-fives (Little Face was sleeping!). He did it. They did it. They’re making history.
Now I’m not this huge, can-rattle-off-tons-of-baseball-statistics, know-every-player-in-the-league-and-even-the-coaches, kind of fan, so really I have nothing terribly insightful or constructive to say, except that this is all so very lovely indeed. Here’s to game 7.

ETA: And he did it on the bummiest ankle around. That was just gutsy. Gutsy, I say. Whooo! ~Mike
