I can’t believe we’ve been through 4, F-O-U-R!, Matty birthdays already!
Let’s take a look back, shall we?

And today, magic number 4:

Dear Matty,

This year has been full of lots of good things.
You started your second year at school, reconnecting with classmates from last year and making new friends and relationships.
I love when you come home and share your day with me. Your ability to sign and spell about the movies you watch or the music time in the gym with Mr. Rocky and Mr. J, hearing about them make wonderful moments that mean so much to me.
And let me not forget about all the new foods you’re trying! Broccoli and cucumbers and kiwi and more. It’s exciting to hear about your new experiences.
Your accomplishments are many and I’m proud of every single one of them, no matter how big or small. You work harder than anyone I’ve ever seen and I appreciate so much the dedication that you give me in trying to learn, try, and communicate.
Seeing you work so hard makes me want to work hard too.
And I think, together, we make a great team.
Because as much as you learn, I learn too.

I love it so much when you do new things, like today at the park, as soon as we arrived, you noticed the squirrels and chased them good. They went up the trees and you tried hard to track them down and follow them. Even with Papa’s help, it was right difficult to get those little buggers!

And hey, hey, you became a big brother!
A great one at that.
You’re very helpful with Noah, picking up his toys for him and being patient when he needs lots of attention and care.
You even share your toys with him! (sometimes)

My favorite times are when all four of us are sitting on your bed playing music.
Noah on the bongos.
Matty on keyboards.
Mama on guitar.
And Papa belting out a goofy song.

We are this family and it is great.

You are my sunshine and I love you more and more and more and more with each day.
Knowing you and being your mama makes me a better, luckier, happier person.

So happy birthday to my Matty.
